What is the statistical likelihood that the next thing you see or hear will have to do with love?
My guess: it’s pretty high. But we can wait for it to happen, or we can be the catalyst for it. What is the statistical likelihood that the next thing you see or hear will have to do with love? Make it 100%. Choose love each and every time.
A two-sentence love story.
“Look me in the eyes so I can see into your heart.”
“Did you find yourself there?”
What if every time we had a negative thought about someone, something negative instantly happened to us?
But what if every time we had a positive thought about someone, something positive would happen to both them and us? Studies have shown that we are even happier when we give a gift more than when we receive one, or buy something for ourselves. What if we operated that way anyway, without reward? The world would be a happier place, or at least, our little corners will be.
The lightness of being in death, can be found while living.
Reaching nirvana (ultimate bliss, eternal peace, enlightenment, end of suffering) entails the realization of impermanence and recognition of the non-self (Thich Nhat Hanh), and when we die, our bodies are lighter, liberated from the mortal weights and sorrows. Try to achieve this same lightness of being that we receive in death — it’s a gift. Like the body of a dead spider or bug on the ground, it’s a shell, physically lighter having been freed from the bonds of this world. The lightness of being, found through death, can be achieved through meditation, working through and releasing earthly sorrows, and shedding the weight of suffering. Heaven can be found within ourselves.
Synchronicities happen because humans crave patterns and connection.
If our years last 1,000 days, or even 1,000,000 days, if there were 88 times as many people on the planet as there are now, if we lived to be 500 or 50,000, we would still find synchronicities. The moon cycles, seasons, harvest, weather, places, familiar faces, numbers, symbols, animals… we desire whimsy and consistency, familiar and new. Patterns and connections are a primordial archetype, older than humans and even animals, that helped keep life alive, and help us thrive into old age today. Synchronicities happen because humans – life – love patterns and crave connection.
Nature is the highest form of future human technology.
Is it possible that, in the future, perhaps the highest, most advanced form of technology is simply figuring out a way to use existing phenomena in nature at our discretion and autonomously? We still need to use technology now because humans need things at our whim on our time. But nature is resourceful, non-wasteful, and utilitarian, only creating, destroying, or using energy when it needs to. As peacocks open their brilliantly iridescent feathers, algae evolved to produce bioluminescence, snakes release venom for consumption or protection, mushroom mycelium create a symbiotic communication network with tree roots, can humans achieve this same technology and restraint?
